The Ban on Incandescent Lamps

How the ban works: You can still buy and use incandescent lamps at homoe. However, these will not be imported and more. We have some stock left; but when the shelves run empty, customers will be able to use a wide variety of other lamps including halogen, compact fluorescent lights (CFL), and LED lights bulbs. Closest colour temperature to incandescent lamps
Only last for 1000 hours
Consume approximately 43 watts compared to a 60 watt incandescent light (read more)
The cheapest of the bunch

CFL Bulbs (more info)

Last considerably longer 100000 hours
Consume 13 watts for the equivalent of a 60 watt incandescent bulb (read more)
Priced slightly higher
Contain trace amounts of mercury that has to be recycled at a proper facility (read more)
Produce cooler light, tinting rooms in a slight blue rather than warm orange tinged incandescent bulbs
